Color and color rendering index of some related knowledge

Date:22-11-2017

The color rendering ability of a light source to an object is referred to as color rendering by comparison with the appearance color of an object under the same color temperature reference or reference light source (incandescent lamp or painted light). The spectrum of light emitted by the light source determines the light color, but the same light color by many, a few or even just two monochromatic light waves from the formation of color for each color is also very different. The same light color light source will have different spectral composition, a wider spectrum of light sources are more likely to provide better color quality.

When there is little or no object in the spectrum of the light source that reflects the dominant wave at the reference light source, significant color shift occurs in the color. The greater the degree of chromatic aberration, the worse the color of the light source on the color. The color rendering index (Kaufman) is still a common method of defining the color rendering of light sources.

Color divided into two kinds
Faithful color: the color of the original material can be used to accurately express the color index (Ra) high light source, the value close to 100, the best color. The effect of color: To highlight a specific color, the performance of the United States can use the color of life to enhance color rendering. The use of low color temperature light source, can make the red more vivid; the use of medium color temperature light source, the blue with a sense of cool; high color temperature light source, the object has a cold feeling.

Relationship between Color Rendering Index and Color Rendering
When there is little or no object in the spectrum of the light source that reflects the dominant wave at the reference light source, a significant color shift occurs in the color. The greater the degree of chromatic aberration, the poorer the color rendering of the light source. The color index (Kau fman) is still a common method for defining the color rendering of light sources.

The incandescent lamp color rendering index is defined as 100, as the ideal reference light source. The system uses 8 kinds of medium saturation standard color samples to test, compare under the test light source with the same color temperature under the reference of this 8-color Deviation degree to measure the light color rendering index, take the average deviation value Ra20-100, with a maximum of 100, the greater the average color difference, the lower the Rr value. Light sources below 20 are not generally suitable for general use.

Index (Ra) grade color development of the general application
90-100 1A excellent color accurate contrast needs of the place
80-89 1B Color correct judgment of the place
60-79 2 Normal Neutral color rendering of the place
40-59 3 The color of the less demanding, less color place
20-39 4 poor No specific requirements of the color place
